With the Rufus Guide as our excuse inspiration, we make a lot of cocktails. Hands down this is the best one we’ve had in awhile. Nondrinkers can use lemonade and ditch the vodka.
Blackberry Spritzers
- 1 quart fresh blackberries
- 1 cup simple syrup
- 12 ounces sparkling water
- 1/2 cup limoncello or lemonade
- 1/2 cup vodka (optional)
Blend berries with simple syrup until pureed. Place a metal strainer over pitcher and strain berry mix into vessel. (Wow, great synonym there.) Use back of spoon to press out all juice. Discard the seeds. Add limoncello, vodka and sparkling water to the pitcher. Garnish with fresh blackberries and mint if desired.
NOTE: To make simple syrup combine equal parts water and sugar, cook over medium heat until dissolved and allow to cool.
Sounds very tasty and refreshing.
Looks delicious and wow, it’s gorgeous! As soon as our weather warms up, I’m making a big pitcher! π
What an enticing photograph of summery looking refreshment. Mmmm. Vessel sounds quite exotic. I wonder if I have any “vessels”?
Beautiful color and the lemonade version sounds delicious.
Gasp! I will never ditch the liquor, even if it is the dreaded vodka.
Nice looking shot in every sense of the word:)
Since I have little ones, I’d have to ditch the liquor or just make two batches one for adults and one for kids! LOL
The colours alone have me mesmerized… gorgeous!
Fantastic and it looks so beautiful!
Yum! Sounds delicious.
This looks beautiful and oh so refreshing!
This sounds really refreshing and that’s a perfect single serving size. Must be tough trying to store a service for 8, though.
Limoncello is brilliant!
Ditch the vodka… Never!
Is it Thursday already? Cheers!
Looks so refreshing! Limoncello… does the blackberry overwhelm it or is Limoncello powerful enough to cut through it? Might go with lemonade on this one…. I seem to prefer limoncello straight up…lol….
Vodka optional? LOL Pour me a glass please!
That looks great! I think I may have to pick up some blackberries soon!
Bet that’s just fantastic on a summer’s day!
This sounds so perfect! I can’t wait for blackberry season π
hey i make excuses all the time with my cooking. Hubs has gotten used to it! This drink looks delicious- can a drink look delicious? I think so!
I love the excuse!
Refreshing!
Mmmmm. And I’ll be making this the next time we have people over. Fabulous!!!!! (Plus it’s an excuse to buy limoncello.)
I recently discovered I was missing your posts because they were on word press reader and I was only responding to emails. Trying to catch up. I enjoy your blog will do better in the future in my responces.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Thanks and no worries.
I love your cocktails. What a great summery drink. Makes me want to have a barbecue so I can serve this. Is a barbecue still a “barbecue” if it’s just 1 person? Hmm.
