That pear is pear shaped

A coworker unloaded a bunch of deformed overripe pears a few days ago.

Time to make jam.

If you do not know how to can then go here.

Pear Jam with Ginger

  • 8 cups pears peeled. cored and finely diced
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 tbsp ginger minced
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon

Mix everything in a pot, bring to a boil and reduce until thickened, about 30 minutes. Can quickly.

    I bet it would be fantastic used as a glaze with seasoned pan chicken with a little red pepper flakes served with brown ric and steamed broccoli!! Yum!! 😊
