Here is a great drink to warm up the soul. Remember to make a fresh batch of biscotti or polish off the old one.

Hot Cider and Rye

  • 2 oz rye whiskey per glass
  • 4 cups fresh apple cider
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

In a small saucepan heat cider, cinnamon, cloves and lemon juice over low until simmering. Pour whiskey into mugs and top with steaming cider. Drink hot.

About Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide

This blog attempts to collect some of the things I try to create with food and booze. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail. My hope is to entertain and maybe help people think a little harder about what they decide to eat and drink.
