This is a great dipping sauce or the perfect topping for fish tacos.
Where are the fish tacos?
Tomorrow may answer that question.
Spicy Aioli
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic minced to a paste
- Burrito sauce to taste
Process the egg, egg yolk and salt in a blender. With motor running on low add half the oil in a slow steady stream. Stop blender and add lemon juice. Turn on blender and add the rest of the oil slowly at first until mixture begins to thicken then add oil faster. Spoon contents into a bowl and add garlic. Mix well then add enough burrito sauce to create a sauce that has the thickness of pancake batter. Season with salt and pepper and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
Your aioli sounds really good, Greg, and perfect for fish tacos — or the tip of a finger that just happens to get dipped into it.
I am with John..this would be amazing with fish tacos
I love it when restaurants have aioli for fries (and fish tacos). Now I just need to make my own. Fancy mayo ftw!
It is a popular dip here in NZ in fact it is served with Fries and used as a dressing in a popular burger chain
Love a spicy aioli, but I’ve never out a whole egg into mine, interesting. The Quebecois like to eat their fries with aioli.
^ Those Quebecois are smart people – I could eat allioli with almost everything π
I love aioli — and I just (finally?) discovered your burrito sauce. Sounds great. Can’t wait to see the fish tacos.
I can’t wait to read your recipe on fish tacos. I think I need to start hoarding taco and flour tortilla wraps in Hong Kong as they are always sold out. I need to be prepared for your recipe! Take Care, BAM
I love aioli so much I could put it on my breakfast cereal. Just had fish tacos Saturday. Looking forward to seeing your version.
This is perfect – we’re having fish tacos this week!
Homemade aioli is so tasty. Seriously, on everything…. especially french fries. But also especially tacos. Lucky for me, the hubby likes to make it! He does a chipotle one that’s amazing with sweet potato fries.
You know I would just be happy with this and a piece of crusty bread for dipping. Yum.

Pass me some raw veggies and I’m set with any aioli.
