Crimson cosmos all around

Three to go for me

We love all the new flavors of 100 percent juice on the market. We love it even more when they’re on sale, which happened recently. Ocean Spray has a number of tempting 100 percent juices and the store brands seem to be following suit. We normally steer clear of the juice aisle, but a recent sale that had the premium brand at half price reeled us in. And we came up with a doozy of a cosmo.

This one’s for The Little Spork who recently bestowed on us The Versatile blogger award. (If you’re not of legal drinking age, fear not Little Spork, just admire the picture.) Her list is here. And here’s mine. Oh and what the heck, Eat, Play, Love, Cadencies, Happy Domesticity and Samina Cooks all get one too for including me on their lists! Update, I should add another one to the list of those who think I’m versatile. Check out Cook Eat Live Vegetarian. Cancer survivor, dog lover and a darn good cook. It may just be a coincidence, but her dog’s name is Rufus!

Crimson cosmo

  • 3 ounces 100 percent cranberry, blueberry, blackberry juice (we used Ocean Spray)
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1/2 ounce of Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • juice from half a lime
  • lime wedge

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and pour in a martini glass. Garnish with lime.

About Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide

This blog attempts to collect some of the things I try to create with food and booze. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail. My hope is to entertain and maybe help people think a little harder about what they decide to eat and drink.
