Sunday Suppers: It’s getting hot

If all went according to plan, we stepped off a plane a few hours ago from the lovely Pacific Northwest where it was about 20 to 25 degrees cooler. (We’re writing this before the trip to give us more time to acclimate.) By June, we’re welcoming higher electric bills and eschewing the oven. Here’s another meal that won’t heat up the kitchen.

This blog attempts to collect some of the things I try to create with food and booze. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail. My hope is to entertain and maybe help people think a little harder about what they decide to eat and drink.

Hey, you two… I want you to know that in spite of the lack of comments here on your site, I’ve been saving your excellent recipes for almost two years now, even while in Afghanistan. You guys post excellent, easy recipes that someday I will recreate in my own kitchen. Foodie Power!!

So glad you’re continuing with this series, Greg. It reminds me of some of your great posts, like the blueberry sauced pork chops, that I’ve long since forgotten.

  4. Wonderful menue!!! thanks. But “those are for me”….oh no, they are not – you will have to share, with me!!!!

  5. The hot and the sweet are always a favorite taste bud pleaser & teaser. Great sauce to complement the pork. Lovely.

JT just had an amazing pork chop in DC the other night, as thick as yours! Just gorgeous and pairs so well with the blueberry and balsamic sauce. We’ve been in DC for a few days and its been melting hot with high humidity! We’ve had an incredibly gluttonous time ;)!

  8. The menu looks great! Especially the pork chops. Can’t wait for my blueberries to come in to try it!

  9. It’s going to get warmer here in about 2 weeks, so these will come in handy!
