If all went according to plan, we stepped off a plane a few hours ago from the lovely Pacific Northwest where it was about 20 to 25 degrees cooler. (We’re writing this before the trip to give us more time to acclimate.) By June, we’re welcoming higher electric bills and eschewing the oven. Here’s another meal that won’t heat up the kitchen.
Pork Chops with Blueberry Sauce
The savory chops mix so well with the sweet sauce
Fingerling Potatoes with Wilted Kale
That’s nice roughage
Strawberry Granita
Those three are for me
About Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide
This blog attempts to collect some of the things I try to create with food and booze. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail. My hope is to entertain and maybe help people think a little harder about what they decide to eat and drink.
Hey, you two… I want you to know that in spite of the lack of comments here on your site, I’ve been saving your excellent recipes for almost two years now, even while in Afghanistan. You guys post excellent, easy recipes that someday I will recreate in my own kitchen. Foodie Power!!
Thanks for the support and we hope you continue to enjoy the site.
I really look forward to the sunday suppers… I have tried so many of them, they are all awesome π
I dont always get the ingredients here, but still they turn out good… π
So glad you’re continuing with this series, Greg. It reminds me of some of your great posts, like the blueberry sauced pork chops, that I’ve long since forgotten.
Wonderful menue!!! thanks. But “those are for me”….oh no, they are not – you will have to share, with me!!!!
The hot and the sweet are always a favorite taste bud pleaser & teaser. Great sauce to complement the pork. Lovely.
Very good menu. That pork chop looks extremely tempting.
JT just had an amazing pork chop in DC the other night, as thick as yours! Just gorgeous and pairs so well with the blueberry and balsamic sauce. We’ve been in DC for a few days and its been melting hot with high humidity! We’ve had an incredibly gluttonous time ;)!
We were out in Oregon all week. Thankfully it’s raining here, but boy is there a temperature difference!
The menu looks great! Especially the pork chops. Can’t wait for my blueberries to come in to try it!
It’s going to get warmer here in about 2 weeks, so these will come in handy!
Those potatoes look divine.
Enjoy your trip! Love the blueberry pork chop. Yum!
