Valentine’s Day is once again on a weekday this year. Don’t go out and make moon eyes with your sweetie while sitting six inches from some other couple. Here’s a meal that’s simple to prepare. The dessert can be made ahead of time and the meal will come together quickly so you have time for other things, like the dishes.
Start with some Jalapeno Orange Scallops.
Continue with some roasted asparagus and steel head trout with Grand Marnier.
(Skip the polenta, just this once.)
Finish with some nice ricotta-stuffed strawberries.
Don’t forget a chocolate champagne cocktail.

Oh YES! Nice, very nice, actually. Is this what you are cooking for your loved one?
I have a pasta in mind. Will post after I make it of course.
The fish looks like a sculpture. It’s beautiful…man you prepare the neatest things…scallops and then more fish.
Looks like a good weeknight (or weekend for that matter) Valentine’s Day dinner. Those strawberries look especially good.
WOW. Add some steak and that’s the perfect meal!
Couldn’t agree more.
“Moon eyes”? Must be the young folk. Get to a certain age and we’re too busy trying to read the menu in the dark light. This is. however, a great way to celebrate the holiday, no matter the lighting.
Researches have discovered that asparagus does not have that affect on everyone. Not only that, just because it does/not affect you today doesn’t mean it won’t/will affect you sometime in the future. Don’t know what to add to that other than I’m glad I don’t work in that lab.
Mmmmmm. Once again you have me wanting to lick the screen
Maybe wipe it off with your sleeve first.
Awesome meal all around!
The strawberries sound scrumptous! I may have to borrow some recipes for the wine bar I am opening!
Borrow away. Good luck with that venture.
Need to make those scallops!
Oh you’re the man! Those scallops are gorgeous and I really like the idea of stuffing strawberries with ricotta. The traditional chocolate covered varieties are too sweet for me.
Great recipe for scallops! The combination of scallops, oranges & jalapenos is really quite perfect. The citrus and jalapeno offsetting the sweetness of the scallops. Very nice my friend, very nice.
