This salad is versatile. Eat it as a dip, on top of another salad, in a wrap, straight out of the Pyrex mixing cup until it’s almost all gone and you barely have enough for a picture….
Shrimp and Avocado Salad
- 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
- 2 avocados, chopped
- 1/2 red onion, diced
- juice from one lime
- 1 jalapeno, diced
- 1 tbsp tequila
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
- salt/pepper to taste
In a medium-sized bowl, stir together shrimp, onion, jalapeno, lime juice and tequila. Season with salt and pepper. Stir well. Add avocado and cilantro, stirring gently. Adjust seasoning if needed.

Now this is my kinda salad / salsa / dip / meal / snack / topping / filling.

Coriander, lime and chilli are such a great set of flavours. Perfect with avocado and shrimp. A taste of summer as autumn sets in.
Perfect combo of flavours. Would you use a Blanco, Reposado or Anejo for the tequila?
We generally have Reposado in the house. That or Anejo would be the best.
This sounds really delicious!
Yep. That would never make it to the table…it might not even get completely mixed before *someone* started nibbling on it
I think that would be fantastic in a corn tortilla
Looks completely delicious and I could eat 10 of those
This looks and sounds wonderful.
a salad for the grown ups! . oh that is me! c
This would make a great appetizer!
Now that looks like a great appetizer!
Agree with the appie idea for this recipe – everything goes very well together, guests would flip for this!
Great snack!
When I make this, I can guarantee it won’t make it out of the kitchen. I’ll get a dip from Trader Joe’s for my guests.
This is my kind of salad, Looks so good
I love this!! I’m going to make it for my family tomorrow night.. we’ll be on turkey overload after today!
This looks good Greg and I like your crackers too.
i’m all for cracker as a food-holding device, but I don’t think I’d actually get any of this salad on the crackers before eating it all with a spoon.
