While we made this as individual servings, it’d be great in a punch bowl. Just keep the liquor and cider ratios the same and add ginger beer to desired strength and then lemon juice to taste.
Cider Punch
- 2-3 ounces spiced rum
- 4 ounces apple cider
- ginger beer
- squeeze of lemon
Fill a tall glass half way with ice. Pour in liquor and cider. Squeeze in lemon and fill to the top with ginger beer.

Yeah, I’ll take a punch bowl of this. Did I just write that? Ha!
You know my feelings on cider Greg? I’m not always sure I agree with messing with perfection…
Oh goodness! I just got a cozy feeling, totally not in keeping with 7:55 a.m. in my office getting ready to teach a 3-hour class! Love it…
I can’t help thinking that the drink might be good served warm
I don’t want ginger beer warm, but how’s this for a compromise: http://rufusguide.wordpress.com/2011/10/27/hot-cider-a-honey-kick/
I could do that….think I’d break my No Cocktail rule for it!
Aww, what a very festive glass. Ginger beer isn’t used often enough.
I’m not familiar with ginger beer – but it sounds delightful and this looks delicious!
It’s like ginger ale, but five times as pricey!
I went to a local cidery last weekend for a tasting – this would have fit right on the menu. Sounds great!
I agree with Mad Dog. I’d like to try this drink warmed a bit. Truth is, each Fall i get hooked on warm apple cider. This would be a very welcome change.

I had a Dark and Stormy last weekend while away on a short trip, and kept thinking how that version could have benefitted from a little spicing up. This cider drink looks way more like what I wanted!
Sadly we don’t get good apple cider here
Big Man adores cide, and I adore ginger beer – the perfect combination for us!
