These grits are great by themselves or used as a base for all sorts of toppings and sauces. Cheese can also be added inside or on top or both.
Bacon doesn’t hurt either.
Use regular grits, not instant for this.

Still never tried grits, let alone grit cakes! Sounds and looks delicious!
Another unknown ingredient. I only know grits from songs, films and stories. It looks bland but sounds as though it has a real kick in it:)
If you don’t cook them right they can be bland, which is just like any other starchy ingredient I suppose. Like polenta, not everyone likes the texture.
I like.

I’m not a huge grits fan to be honest, but I can see this being something I might like!
I have never had grits and if I decide to this dish would make me try it.
Grits? Oh, hell yeah. I like the idea of adding the greek yogurt, I’m sure that kicks the creamy factor up a bit. Also, I think the jalapeno lends a great flavor. This looks awesome ——
Looks fantastic! Can’t wait to try it! I LOVE grits. My Grandma Dorsey always made them for me.
I love grits . . . comfort food at its best.
I’ve never seen grits in cake form. Hmm…
Brilliant.
Cool – that’s a new use of grits to me.
I’ve never heard of grits cakes before but the concept does make sense. Look at all the ways polenta is used. Why not grits?
This sounds divine.
Oh now this looks darn good! Too bad Mike spilled the canister of grits all over the floor the other evening. LOL. I’ve never seen grit cakes before…love the thought of bacon with them.
This looks heavenly! I have never had grits…can you believe?
Greek yogurt, red pepper and a jalapeno? Awesome stuff.
YUM. It looks so delicious!
I know I have asked you this before – but grits is different from cornmeal, isn’t it ? I love all things like this – they just soak up all the yumminess from whatever you serve them with,
Yes, they’re more similar to polenta. Wiki hominy grits.:)
