Strawberries, check. Amaretto, check. Sour cream?

I love strawberry season

One of my wife’s coworkers made this years back at a party. Let’s just say we monopolized the dip bowl at that gathering.

Strawberry dip

  • 8 ounces sour cream, we recommend light it’s tangier
  • 2 tbsp Amaretto
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2-4 Amaretti cookies, optional

Whisk together liquor and sugar. Stir in sour cream. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Before serving crumble the amaretti cookies on top. Serve with strawberries or mixed fruit.

About Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide

This blog attempts to collect some of the things I try to create with food and booze. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail. My hope is to entertain and maybe help people think a little harder about what they decide to eat and drink.

OMG, Yum! Besides the spirits *ahem – but seriously who doesn’t want spirits*, even the sous chefs could share this, and that would make them very very happy.

I made this. It was amazing. Then I brought it to a group where about 2/3 of the women were pregnant and wouldn’t touch it. More for me!
